I have been an immense Jethro Tull fan since the late s when a friend lent me some old vinyls so that I could check out Cross-eyed Mary, Locomotive Breath and some other hits when they were played by the original band and not by my favourite heavy rockers like Iron Maiden and WASP, whose JT covers I had known for a while/5(68).

I have been a Jethro Tull fan since way back when, and as a flute player, I can especially appreciate Ian Anderson’s talent. I was hoping to find a neat summary of their music for my car, and thought this looked like a pretty inclusive compilation for a reasonable price/5().

The Very Best Of () is a greatest hits album by Jethro Tull. It includes some of the band's biggest hits from to the present day. Ian Anderson selected the tracks himself, approving edits necessary for timing purposes, e.g. "Heavy Horses". Track listing. .

Lyrics to 'Cross-eyed Mary' by Jethro Tull. Who would be a poor man A beggar man, a thief If he had a rich man in his hand? And who would steal the candy From a laughing baby's mouth.

This track, single disc collection excels due to its honesty and Anderson's refusal to become a hypocrite; as he explains in his humorous liner notes, he stopped bashing compilations because he realized that half of his own CD collection consists of best-of and/or hits packages/5().
